Little One and I visited Tiny Planets during his ‘computer time’. He was a little apprehensive at first because he has his favorite places to visit on line and felt we were going to waste all his time checking out this new site he might not even like anyway. When the page loaded his eyes lit up! He found six small, bright planets in front of him each leading to a different ‘site’ yet are all interconnected. There is even a place to create your own space cadet right from the main page and of course the cute and fuzzy Bing and Bong are there to great you as well, Little One and I decided Bong is our fave! He sure had a hard time deciding where to go first…
Each tiny planet is full of things to explore and do. There are Bing and Bong TV episodes, puzzles, coloring pages, books you can read, mini games, lesson plans for parents and teachers… Our favorite part – flying around in our space ship on ‘MyTinyPlanets.com‘. Here Little One got to create his own planet and name it! Then we picked out and purchased some seeds and planted them in our bio dome and collected trash to compost for food for our plants to grow! This is also an MMO Game – Massively multiplayer online community game, which means kids can safely make friends online with other space cadets and send friendly preselected messages to each other. They can also meat with in

When it comes to juice and other fruit drinks to choose for our kids, there are a lot of options out there. I know sometimes we tend to opt for the simplest option because it fits into specific schedules, budgets, lifestyles and hey let’s face it, kids LOVE their drinks out of a little pouch or a box! During the school year I almost always have to get those box or pouch options do to the fact that my kids are PICKY EATERS, unlike any body else’s kids
, so I have to pack a cold lunch for them often. I try to make them drink water as often as I can packing a small bottle in their lunch bag along with the juice, especially during the hotter days.
Water is a definite MUST while out at the soccer field or basketball for my kids! It is very important to keep them properly hydrated during exercise. Experts recommend water for children while exercising and if they prefer sports drinks, they may need to be diluted with water (they must contain no more than 6 – 9 grams of carbs per serving!) I have pretty much made it a rule: ‘Other beverages are reserved for after game snack’, I used to get one of these
or a couple of remarks; now it’s just a fact.
Well, the kids are home, ALL day… soon there will be a worn out section in the wood and tile leading directly to the fridge and I might as well put up a sign above the bar reading “Short Order Cook” . I figure, If I am going to be in the kitchen this often making different meals for everyone, might as well let the neighbors in and maybe make a

2nd time reading this one!
I Still remember a little book my mother gave me when I was a little girl. She read it to me and I enjoyed it so much! There was a robin in it and a family of bears, which of course I did not notice, I cared only about that robin. A little boys grandmother was telling him a story about when her daughter was a little girl and this particular robin came into her life. This was a ‘Little Bear” book. I think it is quite a coincidence that Harper Collins Children’s Books, Who published “Little Bear” and I Can Read! which the series “Little Bear” is part of and has been since it’s debut in 1957! Harper Collins is also one of the leading publishers in children’s books, my son E. loves “Warriors”. He owns all the books available in every series! They are asking us, the blogging community to share our tips on what we do to make summer reading fun.
My kids like their computer and wii time. One of the things we incorporated to control how much time they spend on the video games and their computers was to think of a reward system.

Last week I posted about the gifts my boys wanted to make their dad for father’s day and posted a picture of Big Brother’s craft but not Little One’s. Well, we went back to Michael’s and purchased that MUG for him. He chose black over white and he decorated it. He decorated each side of the mug in different themes and it turned out great! Little One was quite pleased with him self and can’t wait till Sunday… As promised, here are some pictures.

Big Brothers gift- from Michael's, hand painted by him. 'Bobblehead'
Little One wants to buy this HUGE mug he saw at Michael’s, while we were shopping for supplies needed for Older Brother’s project. He wants to decorate it with scrapbook stickers in father’s day themes and such… He has had these tool laminate-like stickers for a while – says ‘they are perfect’ – and while daddy is quite handy, he hasn’t picked up too many tools around here in a WHILE. He’s more the suit and tie type and too busy to do much else. Where Little One is concerned, daddy is ‘One Cool Dude’ and I guess with the exception of a few minor flaws (hey
), I will have to concur. So far he is still stuck on that mug – so I’m thinking MUG it is… We will just pick out an array of Little One approved ‘stuffs’ to go on said MUG and see what we get. After all it is their gift!
…Oh, I will be posting pics. on an ‘update’ later in the week!
What are some ideas you or your little ones have for the special day?
To ‘catch the rainbow’ in a cup it is really quite simple. You will need the following:

We have a sweet 'cloud' of Cool Whip at the end of the rainbow
- 6 boxes of Jello gelatin (or preferred brand) in the following colors
* Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple
- Yes there are 7 colors in the spectrum, ROY G BIV, but I have yet to find a good ‘Indigo’ in a Jello.I have mixed purple with other colors and gotten close. Just think it looks great without it and the purple and blue blend well into each other. Besides It never lasts long enough for any body to notice!
